New Dolls in the Shop

The turn around was much faster than I anticipated, and I already have three new dolls up in the shop.

Seriously the cutest ones yet!

Doll Clothes

Part of the success that the remade Bratz have been having is their cute clothes. I don't know about you, but I would not be cool giving my daughter crop top T's and fishnet stockings with sky high mini skirts to play with. Not cool, Bratz. Not. Cool.
So I've been crocheting like crazy. It's actually the most time consuming aspect of my makeunders. Because of this, I've been trying to develop some simple machine sewn patterns to supplement my crochet so I don't end up having to make an entire sweater dress for each girl. Here's the result of two weeks of tinkering.
Looks simple, huh? That's the brilliance of it. Let me elaborate: Doll clothes are tiny. Like freaky tiny. Sewing hemlines and hemming sleeves on clothes that small can be maddening, even with proper garment construction techniques. So my pattern needs to be simple. No sleeves to add. No darts. No zippers. No buttonholes, etc. They're just too small to work properly. The other complication is that I'm working with a variety of doll bodies- Bratz, Moxie, Bratzillaz, Monster High, Ever After High, etc. They're all different proportions. So my pattern needs to be one that can easily adapt from one doll to the next. The two dolls you see here have drastically different proportions, but they're both wearing dresses from the same pattern.
I love it! I love it so much I'm going to convert it to a PDF and sell it on Etsy starting this weekend.

Until then, keep saving Bratz! I've noticed that the doll lots that used to be $15-$20 on eBay are going for $40 now. That means something significant is happening, and I'm proud to be a part of it.

Sold Out!

My shop sold out in the first week. Out of the original group of 12 dolls, the only one that remains was the off-brand little blonde with the funny legs. In order to up her marketability, I swapped her head out with a purple-haired Bratzillaz Witch that I simply could not make under. I think the results are pretty stunning. Also, I really want her outfit in human adult size. UPDATE: SOLD 2/24/15

Thanks for the love and support! I've already started working on the second round of dolls and am currently taking custom orders. For $40, you pick the hair, eye, and clothing colors. I will be doing 4 custom orders this month. The other 15 dolls will be available at the regular $20-$35 price as my previous group.

Style Updates

I've updated some of the dolls to help them fit more of the look and style that I'm attempting to uniformly present with our products. Here are the updated looks.

Doll Makeunder #11

This doll has stunning blue eyes that match her jacket and the flowers on her red skirt. My niece said that she had the prettiest clothes out of all of the dolls. The skirt appears to be baggy and over-sized in the photos. It was bunched up in the doll stand and actually has a natural fit at the doll's waist line.
PRICE: $30

Doll Makeunder #10

I designed this doll to look like my little sister Emily. She has the the same full gorgeous head of dark curly hair (so, so, so much hair on this doll), hazel eyes, and smattering of freckles. This is my most popular doll to date.
PRICE: $40

Doll Makeunder #8

Beautiful, smiling brown eyes and rosy cheeks. Such an improvement over her bored and snobbish expression before her make under. Her outfit is an homage to the Elsa fans of the world.
PRICE: $25

Doll Makeunder #7

This is a very special doll. She is a generic brand fashion doll who was made in a fixed body position. That means that her arms and legs don't move much/at all. Another interesting quirk is that one of her legs is longer than the other. Where the original pieces have gone is anyone's guess, so I have attached boots to her legs and dressed her in flared jeans in order to accommodate her "special needs" and make her play-ready. She is about 1.5 inches shorter than Bratz due to her unique circumstances.  More pictures available upon request.
PRICE: $20

Doll Makeunder #6

Another Chloe Bratz doll rescued from that horrible eyeshadow. Honestly, her toned down look is so much better, and I could not be more in love with her little outfit. She looks like she is ready to be in a school play or present a project at the Science Fair now.
PRICE: $25

Doll Makeunder #5

I despise Moxie Girls a little less than Bratz, but let's be honest: they are still vamped up, unrealistic role models for little girls. After her make under, this little lady still has the same fantastic hair, but a much more natural, glitter-free expression.
PRICE: $25

Doll Makeunder #4

Who knew that bright eyes, clean hair, and an age-appropriate sweater dress could make such a difference? This doll was my niece's favorite because "she looks like a friend." So precious.
PRICE: NFS

Doll Makeunder #3

This little lady could not look any more different. Gone is the flirty temptress. Her new expression is open, honest, curious, and confident. Designed with the same expression, hair, skin and eye tone as my own Rosie Girl, this doll is definitely a favorite.
PRICE: NFS

Doll Makeunder #2

From trashy to classy. This little lady could not be any sweeter now. My six year old niece helped me select and cut out the fabric for her dress. Market research has never been so fun!
PRICE: $30
*This doll was well loved by her original owner and her left hip is coming a bit loose. She still has years more of love left in her, but will not stand up to rough play.

Doll Makeunder #1

This little lady looked very different with her extensive eyeshadow, red lipstick, and nose ring. I personally find her freckles and Strawberry updo much more flattering.
PRICE: $25
SOLD: 2/18/15

*Due to her nose ring removal, there is a small hole near her nose. It is not very noticeable and blends in with the surrounding freckles.

WELCOME!

Welcome to my little doll shop. I am excited to offer you beautiful, sweet, one of a kind dolls at a price that makes them realistic gifts for little girls. All of my dolls are Bratz, Moxie Dolls, Monster High, and Bratzillaz which have been rescued from thrift shops and have been given a second chance as Rosie Girls. Gone is the over-the-top make up and fishnets. In their place are fresh-faced girls styling hand-made sweaters, dresses, leggings, and skirts in age-appropriate styles and lengths.

Please feel free to comment, pin and share. If something catches your eye, head on over to my Etsy Shop and buy a doll!

All proceeds from the sale of Rosie Girls goes toward ongoing medical expenses for the original Rosie Girl, my darling 23 week preemie daughter Rosie.
